Mild Facial Foams/Cleansers for Acne-prone Skin

I've posted before the type of skin that I have and how it was a struggle for me to look for good products suitable for my face. In this post, I have listed the facial cleansers that I recommend. :)

Remember, each person has their unique type of skin. What suits me might not be good for you or for that person behind you... or for that person beside that person behind you (crazy o.o); but it's not that bad to try :3

These are listed in random order. ♥

Lactacyd Blue
This one I just recently found out and proved that it actually works. During those days when my face had a major break-out, I decided to give this a try and it works. It has this watery consistency so watch out, you might put in too much. The only problem with this is that it could make your face really dry if used for months. I think it would be better to use this during 'break-out' days or try using it every other day, switching it with a non-drying facial wash.

Actually a friend told me that her friend uses the Lactacyd Pink (a feminine wash), and I think there's no problem with that because the difference is only the scent and its use (Blue for babies, Pink for the ladies').

Herb day Cleansing Foam in Acerola from The Face Shop
I love this facial foam! Even the people here in the house loved it. The scent is lovely and you'll only need a pea size every time you wash your face. It leaves your face soft and bright. From my experience, it calmed my face and some acne marks were diminished. For my teenage sister who is also acne-prone, it did the same to her face. Another good thing is this cleansing foam is very affordable and lasts for almost a year (that's for me or maybe because I kept on switching -_-).

Yogurt Peel from Etude House
My current cleansing foam. Actually, my sister bought it but she stopped using it because she also keeps on switching stuff. Then my other sister used it until she got a Body Shop Aloe Calming Facial Cleanser and Cetaphil (I don't know what she uses right now). I've decided to try this one when that Lactacyd Blue is already making my skin very dry and I found out that it was good. I'm not into Etude House's skin care products that much but this one deeply cleanses my face. It doesn't leave a dry feeling after washing and the micro-beads inside didn't make me wash my face with pain. The foam together with the beads are easily washed away.

to be continued... :)

Acne-prone, sensitive, combination skin that changes as the season changes? Yeah my skin is like that too.

I've got acne last week and now they're all gone and tomorrow they'll be back. Cystic, whiteheads, blackheads, or whatever futureheads.

My oily skin in summer and veryyyy dry skin from December to January.

Oh an expensive miracle cream and now I've got break-outs.

It has been very troubling to look for facial cleansers and facial meds that won't make my face break-out, dry, or even greasy. It has been also very tiring to go to different dermatologists giving me the same type of meds that made my face even worse (Too bad derma's fave 'retinol creams' gave me horror). My sensitive skin won't accept harsh products.

I've also been in and out of facial salons trying to get rid of bad stuff from my face but I think it would help for only a eee-wee bit of time. I've read and agreed from the 'Mysterious Skin' article from Sense&Style Magazine Oct 2010 issue, the points stated by top dermatologists of the country that facials are just like going to the spa; they'll give you relaxation but they are not medically a 'must'.

Brrr. I wish I could just buy products like Pond's from a drugstore. :Q

For my skin, the simpler the better. I've wanted to follow the regimen I've read used by most Koreans (but they insist they don't really follow it) that is using: first, makeup remover~ then facial wash~ then toner~ then emulsion~ then breathe (jk :P)~ then essence~ lastly, a moisturizer~~ (plus sunblock on mornings). I've tried different products from skin food, face shop, etude house, beauty credit and also hera (i loved that whitening toner btw) and following that long process but it was a big nahhhhh. Nothing dramatic happened, I even had breakouts for some but I guarantee that they are good for moisturizing and whitening but for my skin... no, thank you. i wanna say, 'No, it's not you, it's me' (wtf haha)

So for me, I only needed 3 essential products plus 2 bonus products that give my skin what I wanted: acne control with less harsh chemicals.

The 3 essentials for me are:
  • facial foam/wash
  • toner
  • sunblock
The 2 are:
  • moisturizer
  • cleansing oil/ cleansing wipes/ make-up remover
As simple as that and I don't want to complicate things anymore. The problem is I am complicating it by trying several products and I won't stop til I find that so called 'Holy Grail' My mom would even scold me for trying so many and tell me what I do is the reason why my skin can't find its 'peace' ':S.

So for the upcoming blogs I'll post a list of products by category that gave my skin good results. Hope I could help some peeps out there :3

I've posted my wishlist so I won't forget it. I'm always listing the things to buy but most of the time I end up not following it wahh.

Off to school then

The Late Binondo to 168 Trip Post

I just rarely have the burning fire to dare go to this HK-ish (due to its side by side buildings, stores, stores, and stores) place that we call 168. Yes, a shopping mall's name is a number. Want more? There's 11/88, 999, and 698 if i'm not mistaken. Maybe some sort of a lucky number that would bring good luck on that store. Yes good luck also on the electricity because when we went there the original 168 mall is almost like in the verge of death catching up its electric power from the newly made building beside it. I will give up on ranting, I'm just concerned (bleh).

I'd never go there without a purpose, and my purpose was buying nail stickers, deco for my camera, and just look and stop myself from buying anything. Oh I almost forgot, me want some dumplings in Chinatown bubububu.

So off to find a parking space first in Ongpin...

Congested streets of binondo
i'd kill to have that head. uhh maybe later

wish we bought some egg tarts from lord stow's

i dunno what these baby pineapples mean but still *click click*

fruity-veggie-planty variety

again
Then as we walk along Benavidez St. looking for a place where we could eat lunch, we stopped by this bake shop named Xinyilong. I'm not a fan of them since their breads are "so-so" (o.o) b ut the cakes are goood.

a cake from a bake shop named xinyilong

mini cakes from xinyilong

try these if you like the feeling of getting choked x_x

they're cute but...

again

and again

the cakes here are yummy btw
My sister wants to eat right away so i haven't had a chance to look for that dumpling resto so we just went to the usual place named Waiying serving of course Chinese food

We ate at Waiying though I wanna eat somewhere else
the prices here are okay but if you don't like the 'carinderia' type just go to President's

three chicken's foot in one serving

all time fave ♥ roasted duck

Still roasted duck but now with noodles

"hakaw"? am i right? this dumpling with shrimp inside is yummeh
After Waiying, There's this store selling 'bicho-bicho' and dimsum. We bought some just to munch on while walking going to 168.

some other dimsum. we always buy that bola-bola siopao (steamed bun with pork and veggies inside) for  Php20 I think (like half a dollar ☺)

I dunno what are these called but that rice cake thingy is catchy

Also bought a single 'Bicho' for Php10
Randomness.

'kuya guard' in his most 'breathtaking' uniform. uber tight keke
From Chinatown, we walked through Juan Luna St.going to 168. There is a store there that I've been twice that sells mostly leggings, tights and underwear but now I noticed their cheap nail stickers haha (or maybe because I've just recently become interested in those). I forgot the name of the store :( It's like 'Lucky something store' whatsoever. :S

argh!

fake nails for Php40-50

glittery nail stickers for Php20 and gadget stickers for Php100

These are for only Php20! Here in the South they're like about Php40-50
The problem is that I don't like salesladies who will follow you everywhere you go like a fly. So, when going here make sure to bring patience and you might also want to do the trick of roaming in circles inside that store. The ladies would love it.

After that, we went straight to 168 and there we were surprised because there weren't any lights. XD So we went on the other side where the lights are irritatingly blinking.

Look here look there. Ask how much then leave. See something pretty, smile, think twice, and leave. that's life hahahaha. I haven't taken any photos because it was like Superbowl down there.

This is the only photo I've taken inside 168 and one of the reasons why I went there. Jewelry stickers for gadgets that I found in a store named Sakura located at the topmost floor in front of the foodcout. When I saw the selection I took a picture, I forgot to turn off the flash and a saleslady caught me wahwah.

"No taking of pictures, please"

"Oh sorry ate, I'll just delete it" ... Nah eff you.

Here's the name of the store. I'm sowee haha

Yeah I bought that one for Php100 (like $2?)

Was that fun? Well yeah, but I failed on looking for decoden materials. I'll just use the sticker thingy first.

But wait, I remember this nail shop on the center of the 2nd floor selling nail art brushes, fake nails and stuff. They also sell nail fimos that could be perfectly used for gadget (Why didn't I think about that haha) I'm not sure though if they sell acrylic molds and powders but I feel they have those. Best to look for it next time.

At least I've managed to control myself from buying
See I hate to blog because I'd type and post a lot. Meh

Ah I don't want to but I've made my blog, finally!

Hello people! Well uhhh, ermmm, before i'm addicted on reading blogposts especially when I'm looking for product reviews :P and now, here i am doing the same haha. I just want to spill out some random thoughts, a gallon of yakult, a teaspoon of cinnamon, and a pinch of nonsense (depending on my mood).

Do i even have to make a review on how awesome yakult is?

I am currently having a war with red ants and  now they are effing crawling on my back.

~Purrr~

So, enough intros. I'm not good at it anyway.
